The Community Tap, CB Caine Gallery open new Travelers Rest on April 27

April 27, 2022

The development’s third tenant, Resident Diner, still in progress with opening date TBD

Two tenants of the new Travelers Rest mixed-use redevelopment project at the city’s first stop on the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail are set to open April 27—Coldwell Banker Caine’s Travelers Rest Gallery and the third location from The Community Tap. The third tenant, Resident Diner, previously announced for the former Hare and Field at 327 S. Main St., is nearing completion and will announce a separate opening date.

A community-centric and family-friendly gathering space, the development includes a central all-weather, common area with green space, various seating options, bike racks, and options for live music that connects the building now occupied by The Community Tap – TR and CB Caine to the new Resident Diner. An additional shipping container food vendor facing the green space is also in the works.

“We’re thrilled to open our doors to the community and give Travelers Rest residents and its many visitors another great place to enjoy the best the Upstate has to offer,” says Stephen Edgerton, President and CEO of Coldwell Banker Caine.

The Travelers Rest Gallery will be open to guests of the bar and restaurant and serve as a meeting space and real estate discovery center for CB Caine to welcome future home-buyers.

The new Tap location features 20 taps, eight additional beer by-the-glass options, 14 by-the-glass wines, as well as a well-curated selection of bottles—80-100 wine options and six coolers of beer for to-go sales. Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks will also be available. Inside, the Tap has bar and table seating for 30, an additional 54 seats outside on the covered patio and the flexible green space for expanded gathering options.

Community Tap co-owners Ed Buffington and Mike Okupinski say their team is ready to serve the growing Travelers Rest community.

“This third location is the culmination of everything we’ve learned over the last nearly 13 years, and we couldn’t be more excited to provide TR with our brand of hospitality,” Okupinski says.

The Tap will hold soft openings April 27-28 from 4-9 p.m. and begin regular hours of operation Friday, April 29—11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday.
