The Jam Room Music Festival returns to Columbia’s Main Street

The Jam Room Music Festival (JRMF) returns to Columbia, South Carolina, on Saturday, October 26. Presented by the Jam Room Foundation, with support from the City of Columbia and Richland County, the festival features a full day of performances on two stages at the corner of Main and Hampton streets in the heart of Columbia’s Main Street District. Celebrating its 11th year, the Jam Room Music Festival remains free and open to all.

This year’s lineup highlights local talent from across the Southeast, along with a national headlining act.

Real Estate

  • The Brooklyn-based band released their 6th studio album, Daniel, on Feb. 23, 2024 and will headline JRMF after returning from their European tour. Their latest album was produced by GRAMMY-winning producer and songwriter Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves).

  • The Athens-based band returns to Columbia, where they’ve headlined The Senate and performed a sold-out show inside the Columbia Museum of Art. The band is supporting Lady on the Cusp, their 19th full-length studio LP released on May 17, 2024.

Ted Leo and the Pharmacists

  • 44,216 monthly listeners on Spotify
  • Ted Leo and the Pharmacists return to Columbia in support of the 20th anniversary of their most popular album, Shake the Sheets, which they’ll perform in full.

Secret Agent 23 Skidoo

  • 28,001 monthly listeners on Spotify
  • This Asheville-based GRAMMY-winning act for “Best Children’s Recording” will kick-off the festival from 12-1 p.m. with a special family hour performance. Here’s a clip of their 2018 performance at Richland Library.

Daddy’s Beemer

  • 10,749 monthly listeners on Spotify
  • The Charleston via Clemson band returns to Columbia in support of their 2023 album Tangles.

Today Is The Day

  • 21,045 Spotify followers
  • Today Is The Day is considered as one of the most influential and unique underground metal acts, known for blending noise music, avant-garde metal, grindcore, post-hardcore, and alternative rock styles.

Truth Club

  • 20,454 monthly listeners on Spotify
  • The Raleigh-based band’s 2023 album Running from the Chase was named a Top 50 album of the year by Stereogum and has been highly praised by music sites Consequence of Sound and Pitchfork.

PATx

  • Columbia-based artist PATx just concluded his month-long pop-up shop in partnership with local nonprofit Made with COLA Love. Earlier this year, he was featured in the Post and Courier for the CO-fi, Vol. 1 he helped release through his PSYCHii art collective.

Moses and the Wilderness

  • Midlands-based musician Moses Andrews III’s 2023 album Honestly was ranked in The Post and Couriers top 20 best SC albums in 2023.

MIDS

  • Made up of members of local acts Dear Blanca, Stagbriar, Ivadell, and numbtongue, MIDS recently released a new album titled “Mission Accomplished” and was featured in this Post and Courier article highlighting Columbia’s “supergroups.”

  • Thursday, Oct. 24 | J Robbins (band), War on Women, Gaydream at New Brookland Tavern
  • Friday, Oct. 25 | Touche’ Amore’, Soul Glo, Portrayal of Guilt, Soft Blue Shimmer at New Brookland Tavern
  • Friday, Oct. 25 | Late night at New Brookland Tavern featuring Channel Vessel, Her New Knife, and Scrlett.
  • Friday, Oct. 25 | JRMF Pre-Party at Art Bar featuring Durham, NC act Sluice and Columbia’s own, Hillmouse.
  • Saturday, Oct 26 | JRMF After-Party at Art Bar featuring Guided by Voices cover band, Hot Freaks.

In addition to musical performances, the Saturday festival will include activities hosted by other local arts organizations. There will be merchandise on-site, food vendors, and the festival’s beverages will be provided by WeCo Bottle and Beer Garden.This year’s festival artwork was created by artist Zachary Hobbs. Full festival posters will be available Friday, August 30.
