The Lumberyard Gears Up for Its 2nd Annual Beer Mile on April 26

February 25, 2025

The Lumberyard is bringing back its wildly popular Beer Mile for a second year, inviting runners and beer enthusiasts to take on a unique challenge—all for a good cause. Scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025, the 2nd Annual Lumberyard Beer Mile will put participants to the test as they tackle a series of quarter-mile loops, each one preceded by a beer chug.

With proceeds benefiting Whitten Center Friends, the event combines fitness and fun while supporting a meaningful cause.

The Challenge:
Participants can compete solo or in a team relay.

  • Solo Challenge ($40 per runner) – Runners will complete four quarter-mile loops, each beginning with a beer. Four laps, four beers, one beer mile.
  • Team Relay ($125 per team of four) – Teams will run the same route, but each member will only complete one lap. However, they must drink a beer before running and another beer before tagging in the next runner—beer, loop, beer.

Packet pickup will be from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m., with heats starting at 4:30 p.m. Participants must be 21 or older and are encouraged to plan for a designated driver or safe ride home.

Stacey Michaels, owner of The Lumberyard, is excited to see the event return.
“Last year’s Beer Mile was an absolute blast, and we can’t wait to do it again—bigger and better! This event is all about fun, community, and supporting a great cause. Whether you’re a serious runner or just in it for the experience, we promise a legendary time,” said Michaels.

Those who register before April 5 will secure an exclusive, one-of-a-kind Lumberyard Beer Mile T-shirt—a badge of honor for completing (or at least attempting) this unforgettable challenge.
