The Moore Company announces community “Flip & Give” project

Community will vote on design choices for major renovation in Shandon; 100% of net proceeds will be donated to local charity when home sells
The Moore Company, Columbia’s leading boutique, locally-owned real estate firm, announced this week a new community-based engagement project coined Flip & Give.
Flip & Give is a twofold, charitable home renovation project developed by The Moore Company whereby consumers will help design a substantial “house flip” through online voting. At the end of the project, once the home is sold, 100% of net proceeds will be donated to local charities which will also be chosen by the public through online voting.
Beginning Wednesday, August 1 voting will open on The Moore Company’s website at www.themoorecompany.com and will allow the community to choose 10 integral parts of the home design and renovation process.

The community will be able to choose the following items: master bathroom floor plan, roof color and shingle type, cabinet choices, tile selections, granite, island color, front door style and color, plumbing fixtures, lighting selections and hardwood stain. The votes will be staggered over the next several months. Other votes may be added during the process. The Moore Company’s team of REALTORS® will be advising the community throughout the voting process.
Once the home is renovated and sold, The Moore Company will donate 100% of their net proceeds to charity. The Moore Company is seeking the community’s input and engagement in choosing which charities will be considered. The community is encouraged to nominate non-profits by submitting their recommendations via TheMooreCompany.com. A team of advisers will help whittle down the pool of nominees, and the community’s final Flip & Give vote will be choosing which charities receive donations.

The Flip & Give home, located on Duncan Street in prestigious Shandon, will begin its six-month transformation by mid-August. Graeme Moore and Justin Drafts, owners of The Moore Company, purchased the home last year and are now ready to tackle the big project.
