The South Carolina Wildlife Federation Board of Directors poised for progress during 90-year anniversary with appointment of new Members and Emeritus Board Members recognition
January 18, 2021The South Carolina Wildlife Federation (SCWF) is enthused to welcome six new leaders to their state-wide Board of Directors: Mallory Daily (Clemson), Cameron Foster (Lexington), Rosemary Martin-Jones (Ridgeway), Digit Matheny (Mt. Pleasant), Montgomery Spillane (Greenville), and Jim Taylor (Columbia).
Board members provide expertise and guidance supporting SCWF’s mission of conserving and restoring South Carolina’s wildlife and wildlife habitat through education and advocacy. Their experiences and their love of the state’s natural resources make them excellent additions to the state’s oldest and highly respected conservation organization.
“We are pleased to welcome such great talent to our Board,” said SCWF Executive Director, Sara Green. “Each of these new Board Members provides our organization with additional insight and passion, and will help us to better protect and advocate for our state’s wild species and places.”
SCWF has also added seven proven leaders to the Emeritus Board of Directors: David Benjamin (Columbia), Jason Burbage (Columbia), Johney Haralson (Denmark), Trish Jerman (Columbia), Austin Jenkins (Camden), Ray Nelson (Columbia), and Betty Spence (Virginia). The Emeritus Board is made up of longtime supporters and champions of conservation in our state. This year’s additions include five former Board officers (Benjamin, Burbage, Haralson, Jenkins & Nelson) as well as two former Executive Directors of the organization (Jerman and Spence).
SCWF is currently seeking additional nominees and volunteers to serve a three year term on the Board. Persons from all parts of South Carolina, who represent diverse backgrounds and viewpoints, and have a passion for wildlife, are encouraged to reach out to Sara Green at [email protected] with a cover letter and resume.
