The Woodlands at Furman launches new Masterpiece Living initiative

May 3, 2013

GREENVILLE, SC – May 2, 2013 – The Woodlands at Furman has announced a new initiative to improve the quality of life of both residents and staff members.

The new program, WHALE YES, encourages employees to set five to ten goals for the next six to 12 months.  These private goals can relate to any aspect of the employee’s well-being.  The facility then supports employees in developing creative solutions in the workplace that will help them achieve their goals and live a more fulfilling life through greater workplace satisfaction.

WHALE YES stands for, What Happens After Living Extreme? — You Experience Success.  Drawing an analogy to the experience of the whale — the planet’s largest mammal that survives by consuming some of the ocean’s smallest creatures — a steady stream of small, high-quality experiences can add up to a lot of life-satisfaction.

WHALE YES is an element of The Woodland’s commitment to Masterpiece Living, which seeks to enrich staff and seniors’ lives by promoting and facilitating engagement in a rich array of opportunities.  The most well-known of the Woodlands’ efforts is its award-winning The Woodland’s at Furman Challenge race series which it co-sponsors with the Greenville Track Club.
