Theatre Charleston Announces 2014 Award Nominations

July 25, 2014

CHARLESTON, SC – Theatre Charleston is thrilled to announce the nominees for the second annual Theatre Charleston Awards!  The first of their kind, these Awards were created to recognize excellence in theatrical performance, production, and design and strive to promote live theatre and increase awareness of the richness of the local performing arts community in the Charleston area.  Award winners will be announced at the Theatre Charleston Awards Gala, Sunday, August 31st at the Charleston Music Hall.

Throughout the 2013-2014 theatre season, carefully selected voters from the Charleston area evaluated performance, production, and design. The nominees below, listed alphabetically, have received the top 5 scores in their category.

New to the Awards this season are 5 added “People’s Choice” categories.  These fun categories are Theatre Charleston Individual Member nominated (Theatre Charleston has over 200 artist members!).  All Awards Gala attendees will have an opportunity to vote on the People’s Choice Awards.

Tickets to attend the Awards Gala are currently on sale at www.theatrecharleston.com.  This formal event will feature a red carpet, silent auction, People’s Choice voting, heavy hors d’oeuvres, open bar with our specialty cocktail, live entertainment from some of Charleston’s favorite actors, and much more.  A chance to celebrate the excellent theatre produced in the Lowcountry, the Theatre Charleston Awards Gala will certainly be a night to remember.
