Thomas Creek Brewery and the Greenville Scottish Games to release special ale next month

The Greenville Scottish Game’s Scottish Ale is coming back and with a new edition for 2019.
The new limited special edition Whiskey Barrel Aged Gallabrae Scottish Ale will be released by Thomas Creek Brewery on Friday, April 26 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. It was aged in Four Roses Whiskey Barrels for over nine months. The drink is a smokey Scottish ale with subtle vanilla, oak barrel and Four Roses Whiskey overtones, which make it smooth and satisfying to the taste.
“We wanted to create something new and exciting to go along with our regular Gallabrae Scottish Ale,” said Jay Spivey, marketing director of the Greenville Scottish Games. “Luckily our friends at Thomas Creek had a few ideas in mind and we are very pleased with how this turned out and can’t wait for people to try it.”
During the release party, the Thomas Creek Snack Shack will be open offering tasty treats and the regular Gallabrae Scottish Ale also will be available. It is a 60-shilling Scottish Ale with an ABV of 5.5 percent. This type of drink is perfect to enjoy outside during those warm spring and summer months.
Thomas Creek Brewery has been family owned and operated since its start in 1998. Bill Davis (Taste Master) and Tom Davis (Brew Master) set out brewing delicious handcrafted beers focusing on a foundation of pristine Blue Ridge Mountain water. The brewery is open to the public for tours, pints, growler and six-pack purchases, events and home brew supplies. The homebrew shop offers everything from equipment kits to ingredients including malted and flaked grains, grain milling, hop pellet varieties, liquid & dry yeast, bottles, caps, chemicals, draft equipment, fittings, and more.

The Greenville Scottish Games will be held Saturday, May 25 at Furman University. Highlights of the games include a Great Scot! Parade in downtown Greenville on Friday, May 24, a British car show, a Military Tribute and the Games themselves, which are drawn from the warrior traditions at ancient Scottish Clan gatherings.
