Thomas Weiland and Jeffrey Bernagozzi appointed to GMK Board of Directors

GMK Associates, Inc. announced that Mr. Thomas M. Weiland AIA, NCARB, and Mr. Jeffrey W. Bernagozzi, PE, LEED AP, CxA, have been recently appointed as new members of the GMK Board of Directors. Mr. Weiland also serves as the firm’s director of architecture while Mr. Bernagozzi serves as the firm’s director of engineering.

“Based on their many years of service and significant past and present contributions to the overall success of GMK Associates, Tom and Jeff were appointed to the Board by the unanimous vote and full support of the other board members,” said Jeff Baker, GMK’s president of Architecture/Engineering/Construction Services and current Board Chairman. “We all look forward to their insights and leadership for the future direction of the firm.

Mr. Weiland brings more than 25 years of experience and an extensive background in complex commercial and institutional architectural design to the GMK team. He is a registered architect in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, and holds a bachelor of environmental design (architecture) and a bachelor of arts (architecture) from North Carolina State University. Mr. Bernagozzi has 23 years of experience in all aspects of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection system design, as well as energy system audits, evaluations, and assessments. He is a registered professional engineer in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, and is a LEED® Accredited Professional through the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). He holds a bachelor of science in engineering from the University of South Carolina.
