Three Blue Hose Named Preseason All-Big South; PC Picked Fourth In Preseason Poll
August 18, 2023Presbyterian College men’s soccer players Carson Griffith, Lorenzo Nagy, and Nile Nguidjol were voted onto the preseason All-Big South team. The Blue Hose were picked fourth by the league’s coaches in the Big South Preseason Poll.
CARSON GRIFFITH
Last season, Griffith was named Second Team All-Big South and to the Big South All-Tournament team. He has played an integral role in helping the Blue Hose become one of the top offensive teams in the Big South.
Griffith also played a significant role in helping the Blue Hose defense record eight shutouts last year. The Gastonia, North Carolina native recorded two assists on the season while anchoring the Blue Hose midfield.
LORENZO NAGY
Last season, Nagy became the fourth player in the program’s history named First Team All-Big South. The Kecskemet, Hungary native scored a Big South leading four game-winning goals in 2022. Nagy was one of the main engines that drove a Blue Hose offensive attack which ranked amongst the highest-scoring teams in the league.
NILE NGUIDJOL
In 2022, Nguidjol was named Honorable Mention All-Big South Conference, which marked the second straight year he claimed all-league honors after being voted to the Big South All-Freshman team in 2021.
The Los Angeles, California native played a major role on one of the Big South’s highest-scoring teams last year. In Presbyterian’s win over Winthrop which clinched a spot in the 2022 Big South Tournament for the Blue Hose, he scored the game-winning goal. For the 2022 season, he scored three goals while dishing out a team-leading three assists.
BLUE HOSE PICKED FOURTH
The Blue Hose return 16 letterwinners off a 2022 team that posted a program Division I record of 10 wins.
Presbyterian coach Nick Finotti, who is entering his first season at the helm of the Blue Hose program, welcomes a talented 15 players recruiting class to join the 16 returning letterwinners on the 2023 roster.
