Three Smith Moore Leatherwood Attorneys Honored with “Leadership in Law” Awards
January 20, 2016Three Smith Moore Leatherwood attorneys have been recognized by South Carolina Lawyers Weekly as “Leadership in Law” award winners. G.P. Diminich, Laura Johnson Evans and Robert D. Moseley Jr. will be honored at an awards ceremony on March 10 at the Mills House in Charleston.

Diminich is head of the private client group and practices in the areas of taxation, mergers and acquisitions, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, business litigation, estate planning and probate administration, probate and estate litigation, banking, tax controversy, real estate planning, state and local taxation and business incentives. He is a Certified Specialist in Taxation Law and a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law, distinctions awarded by the Supreme Court of South Carolina. In 2014, he was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).
Evans is a member of the health care practice group offering counsel to a wide variety of health care providers, and continues to litigate non-health care cases for long-time clients. She was named a 2014 Influential Women in Business Honoree by the Charleston Regional Business Journal.
Diminich and Evans received the firm’s 2015 Pro Bono Lawyers of the Year award for their ongoing pro bono work with the families involved in the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church tragedy. The attorneys partnered with the Charleston County Bar Association to provide legal assistance to the survivors and victims’ families.
Moseley is the head of the firm’s transportation industry group representing trucking companies, brokers and logistics companies (and their insurance carriers), with disputes involving commercial transportation accidents, federal and state safety regulations, commercial insurance coverage disputes, freight claims and other disputes involving trucking companies. He has tried over 80 cases to jury verdict in federal and state courts of unlimited jurisdiction. Rob frequently serves as a resource expert to national publications such as The Commercial Carrier Journal, Fleet Owner Magazine, Transport Topics, Heavy Duty Trucking and more.
