Tidelands Health to lead health sciences hub at regional career expo next week in Myrtle Beach
January 9, 2026More than 6,500 eighth-grade students throughout the region will get an engaging glimpse at health care careers at Tidelands Health during an interactive career expo next week in Myrtle Beach.
Tidelands Health is presenting sponsor and pathway leader of the health sciences hub at Pathways 2 Possibilities Jan. 14-15 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
A unique career expo presented by the Frances P. Bunnelle Foundation, Pathways 2 Possibilities offers nearly 20 career pathways for students to explore through hands-on activities and interactive displays, including health sciences, public safety, government, hospitality and more.
As the leader of the health sciences pathway, Tidelands Health coordinates engaging activities and exhibits to help students learn about the broad range of health care professions, including physicians, nurses, lab technicians, infection control specialists, physical therapists and more.
Students who stop by the health sciences hub can engage in hands-on activities such as learning CPR, viewing X-rays and practicing physical therapy techniques.
“Pathways 2 Possibilities is a fun and engaging event for the students and our team members,” said Caitlyn Green, manager of student and volunteer programs. “The students bring so much energy, enthusiasm and interest in what we do. Our team members genuinely enjoy sharing their passion for health care and engaging with the students through the interactive activities, which give students a glimpse at the incredible difference they can make in others’ lives as a health care professional.”
The annual Pathways 2 Possibilities expo is part of a comprehensive strategy at Tidelands Health to help develop the next generation of health care professionals to serve our growing region. Through its McRoy and Jo Skipper Initiative for Learning and Teaching, the health system offers a variety of innovative programs for students to get a jumpstart on a health care career, including shadowing medical professionals and training in a health care setting.
