Time Is Running Out: Submit to the 2025 Earth & Sky Photo Contest by October 31

The Laurens County Conservation District is giving community photographers one last nudge—there’s less than a month remaining to enter the 2025 Earth & Sky Photo Contest and showcase the natural charm of Laurens County.

Now in full swing, this annual contest invites Laurens County residents to capture scenes of the land, sky, and environment that make the region unique—whether in sweeping landscapes, detailed nature shots, or evocative sky views. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or an enthusiastic amateur, your perspective matters.

What’s New This Year

  • For the first time, professional photographers may enter the contest. Entrants must specify whether they are entering in the amateur or professional division.

  • All photos must have been taken within Laurens County between January 1 and October 31, 2025.

Contest Rules at a Glance

  • Eligibility: Participants must reside in Laurens County

  • Photo Limit: Each photographer may submit up to two photos

  • Deadline: All entries must be submitted by October 31, 2025

  • Release Form: If a submitted photo includes people, a signed Photo/Media Release is required

  • Usage Rights: Upon submission, photos become the property of the Conservation District and may be used in promotional materials (print, social media, chamber publications, etc.) — with photographer credit given

Prizes & Recognition

This year offers 12 chances to win, including a $150 top prize for first place. Winners will not only gain local recognition, but their work may also contribute to raising awareness of Laurens County’s natural beauty and conservation efforts.
