Tindall raises funds for PCI Foundation
December 4, 2017Tindall Corporation donated $26,764.50 to benefit the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) Foundation by participating in the Third Annual Great PCI Foundation BBQ Competition. At this national fundraising event, precast fabricators and suppliers team up to sponsor employee lunch or dinner barbeques.
Tindall hosted a series of fundraising barbeques at several of their manufacturing facilities during the months of September and October. Employees, family, friends, and students were invited to attend. Each participant was encouraged to make a suggested donation of $5 or more to PCI Foundation. Competitors are ranked by employee participation, most meat grilled, best event photo, most unique menu item, and other creative fundraising efforts. Tindall’s Mississippi Division was one of eight finalists to qualify for the grand prize, an industrial stainless-steel grill valued at $2,500.
“This has been Tindall’s most successful PCI Foundation fundraising effort to date,” says Greg Force, President and COO of Tindall Corporation and Trustee of PCI Foundation. “We enjoyed some friendly competition between our divisions and employees at all levels were excited to get involved.”
The PCI Foundation is funded solely through contributions made to the PCIF. As a nonprofit, academic and scientific association, the Foundation is dedicated to providing educational opportunities by partnering with architecture, engineering, and construction management programs at universities across the country. They hope to influence the construction industry of tomorrow by educating future designers and specifiers of building products about the many benefits of precast. Thanks to fundraisers like this, the organization can offer grants for student courses, research programs, and testing for cutting-edge precast technology.
Though this organization is closely related to The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI), it is governed by a separate Board of Trustees and maintains independent financial resources due to their separate goals. PCI provides limited funding and staff support to the Foundation, but does not determine how that funding is utilized.
Tindall Corporation takes pride in furthering the education of the next generation of design and construction professionals and is delighted to contribute to an organization that executes these efforts so effectively.
