Top anglers were crowned at the Major League Fishing Phoenix Bass Fishing League Regional Tournament on Lake Murray

Capital City/Lake Murray Country (CCLMC) announced the results of the Major League Fishing (MLF) Phoenix Bass Fishing League (BFL) Presented by T-H Marine Regional Tournament on Lake Murray, held October 10-11, 2025 at Dreher Island State Park, and presented by Mando Deodorant.
The two-day event brought together the top anglers from the BFL’s North Carolina and Savannah River divisions, along with each division’s tournament winners. Over two days of competition, Lake Murray lived up to its reputation as one of the Southeast’s premier bass fishing destinations, producing impressive catches and exciting finishes.
Landon Lawson of Jonesborough, Tennessee, took top honors in the Boater Division with a 10-bass total weighing 47 pounds, 7 ounces. His winning performance earned a $50,000 prize package, including a new Phoenix 819 Pro bass boat powered by a 200hp Mercury or Suzuki outboard. Lawson also secured a coveted spot in the 2026 Phoenix BFL All-American, which will return to Lake Murray next May. In the Co-Angler Division, Kaleb Turner of Hartwell, Georgia, earned first place with six bass totaling 17 pounds, 1 ounce, taking home $15,461.
The 2025 BFL season featured 134 tournaments across 24 divisions nationwide. The top anglers from each division advanced to one of 12 regional championships like this one, competing for a chance to qualify for one of bass fishing’s most prestigious events—the 43rd annual BFL All-American, set for May 28–30, 2026, on Lake Murray.
