Town of Lexington begins construction on the SC-6 One-Way Pair Project

October 16, 2017

The Town of Lexington has issued a notice to proceed on the SC-6 One-Way Pair Project, with construction slated to last nine-months. This is the first traffic and tourism project funded by the 2% Hospitality Tax.

The purpose of the project is to make the intersection of Main Street at N. Lake Drive flow more efficiently. By splitting the northbound and southbound movements, the signals at Lake Drive and Church Street can service twice as many vehicles as it does today. This increase in efficiency will allow for more green signal time to be allotted to east and west Main Street at Lake Drive and Church Street.
