Town of Lexington Decommissioning Coventry Woods Wastewater Plant

September 23, 2015

LEXINGTON, SC – The Town of Lexington is hosting a decommission press conference on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 10:30am at the Coventry Woods Wastewater Plant located at 1000 Mallard Lakes Dr.

The Coventry Woods Wastewater Plant is the fourth satellite facility the Town of Lexington has closed as part of the regional plan to process and treat flow at the Joint Wastewater Treatment Facility located in Cayce (opened in fall 2012).

The closing of these smaller facilities, in our service area, eliminates discharge to the Lower Saluda River and provides cleaner outflow by being transferred to a state-of-the art regional processing facility.

As of September 22, 2015 all 1 million gallons/per day of flow has transferred from the Coventry Woods Wastewater Plant to the Joint Wastewater Treatment Facility.
