Traffic, parking alerts for Midlands high school graduations

COLUMBIA, SC – Twenty-three area high schools will hold graduation ceremonies in the Carolina Coliseum in the coming weeks. The graduation ceremonies will be held May 28 – June 1 and June 4-7.
During the ceremonies, traffic will be extremely heavy and drivers are asked to use extra caution when traveling in the area.
Due to limited parking in the Coliseum area, those attending high school graduations are encouraged to park in the Senate Street Garage, Pendleton Street Garage or the Horizon Garage. Shuttle buses will operate from these garages providing transportation to and from the Coliseum.
The Gamecock Baseball Shuttle, which normally operates from the Coliseum parking lots, will be relocated to the Bates House parking lot at 1423 Whaley St. during the high school graduations.
