Travelyan Marcel Walker joins Providence Surgical Associates

Providence Health is pleased to announce the addition of Travelyan Marcel Walker, MD, to its team of General Surgeons at Providence Surgical Associates. Board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and an Associate Fellow with the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Walker specializes in minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Walker served as Lieutenant Commander in the Medical Corps of the United States Navy, based at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

He was deployed with Special-Purpose in the Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response team to Moron, Spain and the Naval Hospital Sigonella as a General Surgeon with a Forward Resuscitative Surgical System.

“Minimally invasive surgery has shortened the recovery time and improved the quality of life for surgical patients in a variety of procedures,” says Dr. Walker.

Dr. Walker is the author of numerous published medical papers on surgical topics ranging from laparoscopy, hernias, fistulas, catheter placement, thyroidectomies, and more. He received his medical degree from the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, where he was also intern of the year and resident of the year.
