January 4, 2024

Turner Padget announced the addition of Shareholders Jeffrey L. Payne and Franklin G. Shuler, Jr. to its Executive Committee. Jeff and Frank join other leaders, including Chief Executive Officer C. Pierce Campbell and Shareholder Mark B. Goddard in establishing and carrying out Turner Padget’s strategic plan. In these three-year-term roles, Jeff will oversee the firm’s staff alignment and productivity, and Frank the firm’s attorney training, development, and oversight.

“Jeff and Frank have been trusted and long-time leaders here at the firm, and we are grateful to add their wisdom and experience to our leadership team,” said Campbell. “Having served in various leadership capacities at Turner Padget combined with their own successful litigation and counseling practices, these partners understand the opportunities we have to elevate our efforts for both clients and our team, and we are excited to add their input.”

Jeff guides clients through business, construction, and probate litigation, as well as business counseling and transactions. During his 33-year career, all of which has been at Turner Padget, he has handled matters that run the gamut from contract disputes to eminent domain to shareholder disputes and foreclosures. In his role as a business counselor, he guides companies through their day-to-day legal needs, whether it be employment, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, or contract negotiations. Jeff also litigates wills, creditors’ claims, and other actions concerning trusts and estates.

Jeff earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia, and he holds an MBA from the University of Texas (Austin).

Frank has handled thousands of employment-related matters on behalf of companies and their management. Since joining Turner Padget in 1993, he has enjoyed a statewide practice and counseled clients across nearly every industry impacting the state. He is also a South Carolina Supreme Court Certified Mediator. Over the years, Frank has served as Turner Padget’s employment counsel, employment law team leader, and a member of the management committee.

Frank earned his undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his law degree from Samford University.
