Tuttle Elected President of Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia
November 5, 2014COLUMBIA, SC – David Tuttle of Lake Carolina Development, Inc. was elected as 2015 President of the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia (HBAGC) at the Annual Meeting of the Membership held October 16, 2014. He will assume the duties of President in January 2015.
Tuttle was born in Hickory, North Carolina but relocated to Columbia with his family in his youth. He graduated from Irmo High School and then attended the University of South Carolina where he attained degrees in Business and Real Estate/Finance. In 1991 he formed his own construction company, Tuttle Construction, LLC. Currently, Tuttle is President of Lake Carolina Development, Inc., a job he’s had since 2004. Tuttle joined the HBAGC in 2008 where he joined the Land Development Council and Sales & Marketing Council, participated in the Parade of Homes and TOUR OF HOMES, and has served on the Board of Directors.
Tuttle is a member of the Richland County Planning Commission and Urban Land Institute. He has two sons, Charles, 11, and Gray, 7, with whom he enjoys playing golf and other sports. He is also recently married to Julie Jones Tuttle.
Serving as officers of the HBAGC are Eddie Yandle of Executive Construction as Vice President; Jennifer Harding of Russell & Jeffcoat Real Estate as Associates Vice President; Bart Bartlett of Bartlett and Davis Construction/Bartlett Law as Treasurer; and Clint Galloway of Galloway Family Homes as Secretary.
In addition, the membership elected two Associates Directors and two Builder Directors to the board each for two-year terms. The Associate Directors are Eddie Wilder of ERA Wilder Realty, and Brandon Jeffcoat of Clark’s Termite & Pest Control. The new Builder Directors are Mike Satterfield of Great Southern Homes, and Stan O’Brien of Paradime Construction Inc.
Chairpersons of HBA councils also have a seat on the HBA Board of Directors. Included here are Frank Berry, Essex Homes, SE serving as Chairman of the Land Development Council; Ed McDonnell, McDonnell & Associates serving as Chairman of the Sales and Marketing Council of Greater Columbia; Ron Rust, Top Hat Sweepers as Chairman of the HBA of Greater Columbia Remodelers; and, Todd Wagstaff, Comfort Services as Chairman of the Green Building Council of Greater Columbia.
