Two Nelson Mullins Attorneys Elected To College of Labor and Employment Law
July 6, 2014COLUMBIA, SC – Sue Erwin “Corky” Harper, a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Columbia office, is one of two firm attorneys recently elected as a Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. The College also selected Michelle W. Johnson of Atlanta as a Fellow. Attorneys are elected to the College based on sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplary integrity, and dedication and excellence in the profession.
Ms. Harper leads Nelson Mullins’ labor and employment practice in South Carolina. Certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a specialist in employment and labor law, Ms. Harper’s practice includes representing corporations in the litigation and trial of trade secret claims, bringing and defending cases involving the enforcement of covenants not to compete, and defending individual and class actions alleging wage and hour violations and claims of employment discrimination.
Ms. Johnson practices in Atlanta in the areas of labor and employment law, business litigation, consumer financial services litigation, and appellate work. She counsels and represents management in lawsuits and administrative proceedings for wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour violations, and the enforcement of restrictive covenants. She has tried cases before the National Labor Relations Board and in state and federal courts throughout Georgia. She also prepares executive employment agreements and assists businesses with employment issues arising out of mergers and acquisitions, stock and asset purchase agreements, and other corporate transactions.
