Two Richland One high schools honored with 2024 AP School Honor Roll recognitions

For the second year in a row, two Richland One high schools have been named to College Board’s AP School Honor Roll. The recognition program, which launched in 2023, celebrates schools whose AP programs are “delivering results for students while broadening access.”

The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Dreher High School earned the silver recognition. A.C. Flora High School earned the bronze recognition.

To qualify for the AP School Honor Roll, schools must meet the following criteria for its students in the most recent graduating class:

  • College Culture – 40% or more of the graduating class took at least one AP exam during high school.
    • Bronze criteria: 40%
    • Silver criteria: 50%
    • Gold criteria: 65%
    • Platinum criteria: 80%
  • College Credit – 25% or more of the graduating class scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP exam during high school.
    • Bronze criteria: 25%
    • Silver criteria: 30%
    • Gold criteria: 35%
    • Platinum criteria: 50%
  • College Optimization – 2% or more of the graduating class took five or more AP exams during high school, with at least one exam taken in ninth or tenth grade.
    • Bronze criteria: 2%
    • Silver criteria: 5%
    • Gold criteria: 10%
    • Platinum criteria: 15%

Fifty percent of Dreher’s Class of 2024 took at least one AP exam. Forty percent scored a 3 or higher on at one least exam. Twenty-six percent took five or more exams.

Forty-nine percent of A.C. Flora’s Class of 2024 took at least one AP exam. Thirty percent scored a 3 or higher on at least one exam. Ten percent took five or more exams.
