Two SC Launch Companies Honored at InnoVision Technology Awards

CareCam Innovations and SensorTech Both Recognized

COLUMBIA, SC – December 14, 2011 – SCRA announced today that two SCLaunch companies were honored with awards at the recent InnoVisionTechnology Awards event in Greenville, South Carolina. CareCamInnovations received the Innovator of the Year Award and SensorTech tiedfor top honors in the Technology Development Award category.

TheInnoVision Technology Awards program, founded in 1999 and presented byMcNair Law Firm, P.A., recognizes and honors Upstate businesses,individuals and organizations that have demonstrated significantadvancements in the areas of innovation and technologicalprogress. Since 2006, six SC Launch companies have been recognizedduring this awards event

Receiving the Innovator of the Year Awardwas CareCam Innovations. The company’s first product, the CareCam“Enhance,” is a patented, patient issued video documentation systemdesigned to enhance existing electronic health records of hospitals,surgery centers, physician offices and clinical research sites.  Carecam’s proprietary video tagging solution is fully integrated intoits suite of flexible database management tools which provide a moreaccurate, less costly method of documentation focused on improving thequality of patient care and reducing fraud

This patented conductive polymer technology, discovered byClemson research, can be used as force sensors, pressure calibratedswitches, temperature sensors and variably conductive thin films. SmartPolymer™ materials used as sensors enable force measurements on 3Dsurfaces and in compact areas with durability, high speed response time,a wide measurement range, and low energy usage.
