U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Service adding new staff in Columbia to support global companies

COLUMBIA, SC – The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Service office in Columbia has added new staff to support South Carolina companies in reaching their international sales goals. Anastasia Mukherjee joins a team that has helped dozens of Columbia-area companies succeed in new global markets.
Mukherjee will work one-on-one with local companies to help them determine their export strategies, answer export-related questions, and increase international sales.
She joins the team after a career working in trade in the private sector, most recently as a trade analyst with Integration Point, Inc. in Charlotte NC. She has performed market research and analysis with ECI Find New Markets and Walter Meyer. She has an International MBA from the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business, is fluent in Russian and studied Portuguese, Ukrainian, Hindi, French and Polish.
Mukherjee will specifically work with local companies in the following counties: York, Chester, Fairfield, Newberry, Lexington, Orangeburg, Lancaster, Kershaw, Richland, Calhoun, Chesterfield, Lee, Darlington, Sumter, Marlboro and Dillon.
The U.S. Commercial Service is a branch of the U.S. Department of Commerce dedicated to helping U.S. companies export. The agency has offices across the United States and in more than 75 overseas markets.
South Carolina is home to three Commercial Service offices in Greenville, Columbia, and Charleston. The Centers regularly hosts courses to train companies on the fundamentals of, and advanced topics in, exporting.
