UBS Ice on Main Extended by Popular Demand
December 29, 2011GREENVILLE, SC – December 30, 2011 – The overwhelming success of UBS Ice on Main has prompted the city of Greenville to extend the new downtown attraction by one week. UBS Ice on Main will now run through Monday, Jan. 16, 2012.
“Thousands of Greenville residents and out-of-town visitors made UBS Ice on Main a new family tradition this Christmas season,” said Greenville Mayor Knox White. “Extending UBS Ice on Main through the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend will give even more people the opportunity to experience this great new attraction in downtown Greenville.”
UBS Ice on Main is located next to Greenville City Hall on the Village Green at Main@Broad. The Village Green has been converted into a 3,200-square-foot temporary skating rink with real ice. So far, 11,154 skaters of all ages have visited since it opened Nov. 25. Countless others have enjoyed watching the activity at UBS Ice on Main while making downtown Greenville part of their holiday.
UBS Financial Services Inc. is the title sponsor, while The Courtyard by Marriott Greenville Downtown and City of Greenville have partnered to provide the physical space. Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, Greenville Hospital System and The Spinx Co. are platinum sponsors for UBS Ice on Main.
Admission to UBS Ice on Main is $10 for adults, $8 for children age 12 and under. Free skate rental is available. Details can be found at www.IceOnMain.com.
