The Citadel’s School of Business is partnering with Battlefield Leadership to provide customized leadership training events beginning this fall.

The alliance will combine The Citadel’s expert faculty, facilities, distinguished alumni, and local partnerships, with Battlefield Leadership’s industry-leading facilitators, methodology, program content and corporate client base to leverage both The Citadel’s unique environment and the history of the Charleston area in providing educational experiences focused on leadership development for corporate executives.

“The Citadel’s world-renowned reputation for excellence in developing leaders of character in a military culture, in conjunction with the college’s storied history in the Palmetto State, made this alliance a perfect fit for both sides,” said the Battlefield Leadership’s Chief Operating Officer, Colonel Kevin W. Farrell, Ph.D., U.S. Army (Retired). “Participants in our programs experience the pivotal leadership challenges, teambuilding requirements, and key decisions of past leaders and apply them to contemporary situations.”

Kingseed, Ph.D., U.S. Army (Retired), and has programs in more than 20 locations worldwide, including Gettysburg, Antietam, Chickamauga,  Kennesaw Mountain, The Alamo, Little Bighorn, Washington’s Crossing, Normandy, Waterloo, The Battle of the Bulge, and Malta.

“Showcasing leadership lessons from history provides a dynamic platform from which to explore contemporary leadership topics and issues,” said Colonel Kingseed, who was born in Charleston. “This partnership, consistent with the both the mission of The Citadel and Battlefield Leadership will further enhance the development of leaders of character, competence, and moral courage for roles in the corporate world and society at large.”

The partnership will initially provide a residential Citadel Leadership Experience consisting of lectures, experiential programs, and interactive case studies.  Programs can be customized to address a client’s specific needs.
