Community Holiday Tradition Returns with More Partners, Events and Entertainment

GREENVILLE, SC – United Community Bank Ice on Main celebrates the opening of its fifth season as one of downtown Greenville’s favorite holiday traditions. The 2015-2016 anniversary season brings new partners and events to the rink as well as the return of seasonal favorites and special anniversary celebrations.

“United Community Bank Ice on Main is a holiday tradition in downtown Greenville, and we are excited to celebrate our fifth year on the ice,” said Mayor Knox White. “We are grateful to the sponsors and partners who have helped grow our vision of a downtown ice rink into the destination that it is today. Nearly 67,000 skaters have enjoyed the rink over the past four years, and we look forward to welcoming more skaters and families this season.”

United Community Bank Ice on Main is located next to Greenville City Hall on the Village Green at Main@Broad, 206 S. Main St., and is open from Nov. 20, 2015 through Jan. 18, 2016. Skate rentals are $10 for adults and $8 for children, although some discounts are available to skaters on specific days. A full event schedule is available on iceonmain.com.

“We are proud to be the presenting sponsor for United Community Bank Ice on Main for a third year in a row. Ice on Main is just one of the many reasons Greenville is an amazing place to live and visit,” said Michelle Seaver, President of Greenville County for United Community Bank. “It is important to us at United Community Bank to give back to our communities. We enjoy being able to help provide a fun and affordable outdoor family activity while also helping attract more visitors to our vibrant downtown business district.”

In celebration of the rink’s fifth anniversary, United Community Bank is thrilled to introduce “Skate United” nights. Every Tuesday night, all skaters can skate for just $5. This is the first discount to be offered to all skaters once a week without any conditions.

United Community Bank is bringing back items to the rink that benefit the greater community, including the return of commemorative gloves and socks available for purchase with proceeds benefitting Camp Courage, a local recreational program for children with cancer and blood disorders. Scarves from Piedmont Natural Gas and handwarmers from Cabela’s will also be available for sale this year, with proceeds benefiting PNG’s Share the Warmth Program and Make-A-Wish® South Carolina, respectively.
