United Community Bank selects Greenville bankers for inaugural Leadership Academy

May 31, 2016

United Community Bank has selected fifteen of its emerging leaders for its Leadership Academy, a professional development program. Four Greenville-based team members have been selected for the 2016-2017 class, which is the first year for the program, and includes team members from United Community Bank offices around the four-state footprint.

“We are fortunate to have a great number of emerging leaders at United,” said Lynn Harton, president and chief operating officer of United Community Bank. “We had more than 50 highly qualified nominations in our first year. Choosing only fifteen for this initial class was challenging, but I am very pleased with this group. They represent many different areas and geographies within the company – and mostly, they represent United and our future.”

This year’s class includes United Community Bank employees nominated by senior management from throughout the Bank footprint. Members will participate in United initiatives, key meetings, and leadership roundtables with United’s senior management and executive teams. Members will also participate in Clemson University’s Center for Corporate Learning’s Mini MBA program in Greenville, S.C. as well as complete “stretch assignments” for personal leadership development. Sessions begin in May and take place once a month. Graduation is scheduled for January 2017.

The bankers selected from the Greenville area include (headshots attached):

• Annemarie Murphy, Chief Operations Officer of SBA Lending
• Jana Scroggins, Commercial Relationship Manager
• Drew Williams, Director of Corporate Product Management
