United Way of the Midlands’ Volunteer Center now accepting project proposals for its annual Volunteer Week
January 23, 2019
United Way of the Midlands announced it is officially accepting project proposals from local nonprofit agencies through February 5 to be considered for its annual Volunteer Week held April 8 – 13, 2019.
“We’re looking for any 501(c)(3) organizations that are looking for a helping hand,” said Jordan Pridgen, United Way’s Volunteer Center Manager. “Volunteer Week is a perfect time for individuals and groups to get a taste of volunteering, learn about the needs of our local nonprofit agencies and collectively improve our community. For nonprofits, Volunteer Week is a great way to increase the community’s awareness of the organization and mission and connect with new volunteers in the community.”
Last year’s Volunteer Week projects included packing and delivering meals at Senior Resources and Harvest Hope, cleaning up the Palmetto Trail with Palmetto Conservation Foundation, building projects with Habitat for Humanity, planting gardens at DJJ and Babcock Center, sorting donations at The Salvation Army Family Store and painting rooms at Mental Illness Recovery Center, Inc. (MIRCI).
If you are a nonprofit located in the Midlands and are interested in submitting a project proposal, please contact United Way of the Midlands Volunteer Center Manager Jordan Pridgen at [email protected] or call 803-758-6987. Project proposals must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on February 5, 2019 to be considered as a project offered to the community during Volunteer Week.
