South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster joined UnitedHealth Group to announce a $500,000 donation to the state’s One SC Fund to help residents of South Carolina recover and rebuild from Hurricane Florence.
The One SC Fund will use UnitedHealth Group’s donation to support various organizations providing relief and response efforts in the affected areas.
“We thank UnitedHealth Group for its generous support of South Carolinians in need,” said Gov. McMaster. “Many of our neighbors and friends have been displaced by flooding from Hurricane Florence and, unfortunately, the worst is yet to come. I encourage those who are able to please visit www.OneSCFund.org to help support this effort.”
In addition to the donation, UnitedHealth Group is deploying health care delivery capabilities including mobile clinics providing health care directly to people living in the affected areas, emergency kit and prescription drug donations, and a free emotional-support help line.
