UofSC’s McKissick Museum showcases Jonathan Green art through Aug. 4
July 26, 2018
Eleven hand-drawn lithographs by Lowcountry artist Jonathan Green are on display at the University of South Carolina’s McKissick Museum as a limited engagement through Aug. 4.
Considered one of the most important painters of the Southern experience by art critics, Green was born and raised in the South Carolina Lowcountry. The exhibition “Sharing the Chores: Works on Paper by Jonathan Green” depicts life and work for the Gullah people in the Lowcountry. The pieces showcase Green’s vibrant color choices and bold imagery for which he has become famous.
