Upstate SC Alliance’s Erin Ford Recognized as Emerging Energy Leader
February 3, 2014UPSTATE, SC – February 3, 2014 – Every year the Charlotte Business Journal recognizes people in both Carolinas who have played a key role in making the Carolinas a global player in the energy industry. Among this year’s honorees are the Upstate SC Alliance’s Erin Ford and Doug Webster of CBRE-The Furman Company.
Webster won in the category “2014 Energy Leadership Award,” and Ford won in the category “2014 Emerging Leader.” Ford is responsible for recruiting energy-related industry to the Upstate and Webster is the chair of her energy industry task force that helps guide her efforts. Ford also participates in the E4 Carolinas, an association that promotes the Carolinas as the new energy center.
They were honored along with the other 15 honorees at the 2014 Energy Leadership Awards Reception at the Mint Museum in uptown Charlotte on January 30 and featured in a special section of the Charlotte Business Journal on January 31.
Ford is a Business Recruitment Officer (BRO) with the Upstate SC Alliance. In that role she specializes in recruiting businesses engaged in the energy and biosciences industries to the Upstate. She has held this position since March 2012.
