Upstate SC Alliance Announces Promotions
August 5, 2014UPSTATE, SC – The Upstate SC Alliance, the public-private economic development organization that markets the Upstate to the world, announced two promotions today. Jennifer Miller is now vice president and chief operating officer, and Elizabeth Feather is now the director of research.
“As the new president/CEO of the organization, it was clear to me the leadership and value these individuals bring to our organization and region. I am thankful for all the contributions made by Jennifer, Elizabeth, as well as the entire team at the Upstate SC Alliance. The Upstate is fortunate to have such a talented group of individuals working on its behalf,” stated president/CEO John Lummus.
As vice president and chief operating officer, Miller will continue to oversee and direct all external marketing efforts. She will also be responsible for managing the organization from an operational perspective and ensuring its long-term sustainability. As the longest serving member of the Alliance team, her institutional knowledge provides valuable insight to the organization. Miller joined the Alliance in 2006, and previously served as the vice president of marketing.
Feather joined the Alliance in 2011 after 11 years with GSA Business. As director she will be responsible for leading and executing the organization’s research efforts, as well as leveraging relationships and resources to position the organization as the go-to resource for information on the Upstate. Feather is an integral part of the Upstate’s participation with the Global Cities Exchange, a joint partnership of the Brookings Institution and JPMorgan Chase.
“Elizabeth’s addition to the team symbolized the Alliance’s firm dedication to becoming the leading resource for information on the Upstate of South Carolina. Her contributions over the past 2 ½ years have without a doubt increased the organization’s value to both our stakeholders and the region as a whole. Most importantly, her work provides vital support to each of our local economic developers,” stated Miller who led the effort to hire Elizabeth in 2011.
