Upstate SC Alliance promotes Metcalf to Senior Business Recruiter
March 20, 2019The Upstate SC Alliance has promoted Marc Metcalf to Senior Business Recruitment Officer. The Alliance is a regional economic development organization whose mission is to position the 10-county Upstate region to succeed in the global economy, and Metcalf joined the team in 2015.
Metcalf helps to grow the Upstate’s global business network and represents the region as a prime location for doing business. He works in partnership with the S.C. Department of Commerce and Upstate economic development professionals to support companies considering expanding their business in the U.S.
The promotion acknowledges Metcalf’s expanded role in recruitment strategy, where he has taken the lead in automotive and life sciences focus areas. He has also taken a leadership role in the Landing Pad initiative, which assists established small-to-medium enterprises with local market entry, providing connections to turnkey workspace and business support resources.
Metcalf has a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from North Greenville University. He currently represents the Alliance on the boards of SCBIO and the SC Automotive Council, and he is a board member of the City of Greer Recreation Association.
