US News rankings: USC’s International MBA remains top in the country
April 8, 2025For the 11th straight year, the University of South Carolina has earned the No. 1 ranking in the country for its International MBA program, according to the 2025 Best Graduate School rankings released April 8 by U.S. News & World Report.
The Darla Moore School of Business has ranked in the top three nationally for its IMBA program for 36 consecutive years.
“The Moore School’s No. 1 International MBA program students learn to work across borders through in-country immersion experiences from a robust list of partner schools and through global coursework,” Moore School Dean Rohit Verma says. “They learn from faculty with decades of business expertise and alongside classmates from many industry backgrounds — everything from health care, engineering and consulting to marketing, banking and sales. The IMBA program equips graduates with technical expertise in functional areas, quantitative proficiency through business analytics training and soft skills developed from living abroad, preparing them for leadership roles in multinational corporations.”
- The U.S. News graduate program rankings show broad-based excellence at USC, with rankings improvements in areas including engineering, education and law.
- The Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing improved 12 spots in the best overall engineering graduate program, moving to No. 81 in the country and No. 49 among public universities. The civil engineering program ranking jumped 14 spots to No. 73, while nuclear engineering improved two spots to No. 21 nationally.
- The College of Education improved two spots, ranking No. 27 in the overall best graduate education schools. The college has improved by 60 spots in the rankings over the past three years.
- The Joseph F. Rice School of Law improved its overall ranking by three spots, placing No. 63 nationally and No. 33 among public law schools. Its trial advocacy program improved to No. 12 nationally, while the law school saw improvements in the rankings of its contracts and commercial law, environmental law, intellectual property, international law and tax law programs.
- The College of Nursing’s doctor of nursing practice program improved six spots to No. 36, while the nursing school’s master’s program ranked as the 23rd best in the nation. The College of Nursing was also ranked No. 1 by U.S. News in January for its online master’s program — for the fifth consecutive year.
- Also at the Darla Moore School of Business, the graduate-level operations and supply chain program ranked No. 18, while the part-time MBA program is at the No. 23.
“Rising in the rankings and maintaining that success reflects our commitment to academic excellence across campus,” says Donna Arnett, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost. “Graduate education – which produces both educators and practitioners for our state – is a key part of our efforts to create strong outcomes for students and improve the lives of South Carolinians.”
The University of South Carolina’s ranked graduate and professional programs include diverse areas of study in the sciences, technology, engineering, health sciences, education, law and business. These programs help train graduate students destined to become future leaders in their fields, providing the skilled workforce needed to propel the state’s economy.
USC has more nationally ranked graduate programs than all other colleges and universities in the state combined.
