USC Aiken breaks ground on new Cyber Integration Center

USC Aiken held a groundbreaking ceremony for the S.C. National Guard Cyber Integration Center (CIC), marking a milestone in the region’s commitment to cyber defense and workforce development.
The ceremony featured guests from Fort Eisenhower, the S.C. National Guard (SCNG), Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, Sen. Tom Young (B.A. ’93, J.D. ’96), Rep. Bill Taylor and U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson (J.D. ’72).
The new 26,000-square-foot facility will locate on an 18-acre site just behind the Advanced Manufacturing Collaborative. Designed to strengthen the state’s cybersecurity infrastructure, the CIC will bring together cyber professionals from academia, government and the private sector, and offer training for more than 400 cybersecurity students and over 100 SCNG cybersecurity and signal soldiers.
