USC science education partner-teacher to host free eclipse informational event – June 1
May 29, 2017A science education teacher, Joni Jordan, is hosting a free event for students and their families to discuss the upcoming total solar eclipse. The informational event will take place from 6- 7:30 p.m. June 1 at the Edisto High School auditorium in Cordova, South Carolina.
The total solar eclipse will take place on August 21, and South Carolina is expected to be one of the best viewing areas in the world.
Jordan, a Noyce Fellow Master Teacher, will discuss the science behind the eclipse in an age appropriate manner and answer questions about the rare event. The Noyce Master Teacher Fellow program is funded by a $3 million grant to develop teachers in rural districts. The fellows take five USC courses to help them better teach STEM curriculum.
