Utility Work to impact inbound traffic on Bull Street

August 13, 2018

The City of Columbia is notifying its citizens of potential traffic delays on the inbound lanes of Bull Street near the intersection at Victoria and Franklin Streets beginning on Monday, August 13, 2018.  Please be advised that inbound lanes will be impacted until the project is completed. Drivers should adhere to all signage and prepare for delays as travel lanes shift. Please see the attached figure for lane closure information.

As part of a City-wide stormwater program, Columbia Water is in the process of improving storm drain infrastructure in the Cottontown area. This project includes upgrading stormwater infrastructure at the corner of Franklin and Bull Streets. In addition to the stormwater project, Columbia Water is also installing new waterlines within the project corridor. The projects were coordinated to ensure that traffic flow would only be impacted once. The new infrastructure will reduce localized flooding, increase fire protection, and improve water quality for residents in the project area.

Traffic delays and detours are expected through the duration of construction, which may last up to 30 days. The City urges its citizens to adhere to the detour signs and reroute accordingly. Columbia Water apologizes for any inconvenience that this may cause to our customers. We ask for your patience as we work to improve the infrastructure in your area.

Any other questions or concerns regarding this traffic advisory can be made to The City of Columbia Customer Care Center at 803.545.3300.
