Verdae Launches Development of Legacy Square with Contracts for Three New Commercial Buildings

Legacy Square is a planned neighborhood-scaled commercial district within Hollingsworth Park at Verdae

GREENVILLE, SC – July 27, 2011 – Verdae Development, Inc. has begun site preparation for phase one of Legacy Square, the planned neighborhood-scaled commercial district within Hollingsworth Park, and has pre-sold three of the seven available pad sites for professional office and retail use.  The initial corner, located at the intersection of Rocky Slope Road and Legacy Park Road, will showcase wide sidewalks, inviting storefronts that face the street and parking behind the buildings.  Holliday Dental, N&H Enterprises and Verdae Development have purchased sites and will construct the first three buildings, each privately-owned.  Approximately 30,000 sq. ft. of commercial space is expected for phase one.  Future phases of Legacy Square will be developed on the remaining corners, nearly 10 acres.  

As identified in the Verdae master plan, Legacy Square will enhance the community by placing a blend of merchants and service providers within close proximity to residents and area customers.

“The master plan for Verdae defines the vision for the entire 1100-acre development, but market demand dictates the roll-out for each project,” said Rick Sumerel, president and COO of Verdae Development. “The activity we’ve seen throughout Hollingsworth Park suggested that the time was right to begin the neighborhood retail center.  Having commitments for three new buildings before an official announcement, says that we’re off to a good start.”

About the New Buildings/Owners:

Site A:  Dr. Joseph Holliday will relocate his practice, Holliday Dental, to his new building at Legacy Square.  The facility, an example of the newest concept in dental design, will be approximately 4800 sq. ft.  Dr. Holliday anticipates moving to the new location in late spring 2012.

Site B:  N&H Enterprises, a real estate management and development firm in Greenville, is constructing a two-story building and will relocate their office to the upper floor in early 2012.  The ground floor (approximately 3800 sq. ft. of retail or restaurant space) will be available for lease.

Site C:  Verdae Development will relocate their corporate and sales offices to the second floor of their new building in spring of 2012. The first floor (approximately 3600 sq. ft. of retail or restaurant space) will be available for lease.  A rooftop space, overlooking Legacy Park, will also be available for events.
