Verizon Wireless District Manager to Receive Award for Commitment to Military Employees

COLUMBIA, SC – February 8, 2012 – The South Carolina Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (SC ESGR) has selected Grant Reynolds, Verizon Wireless district manager, to receive an award on behalf of Verizon Wireless to acknowledge his ongoing support and commitment to employee participation in Guard and Reserve programs. The SC ESGR will honor Reynolds at the 2012 Awards Banquet on February 10, 2012.
Sergeant First Class William R. Carlson, member of the S. C. Army National Guard and Verizon Wireless employee, nominated Reynolds in recognition of his leadership and support. “The overwhelming patriotism for military employees is evident throughout all departments at Verizon Wireless. Verizon’s consistent appreciation and encouragement for employees participating in Guard and Reserve units is embedded within the company culture,” said Carlson.
“At Verizon Wireless, we strongly respect and admire the men and women serving our country and believe in showing our thanks and appreciation,” said Grant Reynolds. “While I am grateful to accept this award from the SC ESGR, our team at Verizon is proud of the military heroes in our company who serve and sacrifice to create a better, safer world in which to live.”
The South Carolina Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is an organization designed to develop and promote employer support for Guard and Reserve service. In 2012, SC ESGR will honor 15 employers who have gone above and beyond to support their military employees. On behalf of Verizon Wireless, Grant Reynolds also received prior recognition, including the 2011 Patriotic Employer award, from ESGR for his support of military employees. The 2012 Awards Banquet will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Courtyard by Marriot in downtown Columbia, South Carolina.
