W.O. Blackstone Announces Transition in Ownership

COLUMBIA, SC – August 20, 2013 – W.O. Blackstone & Co., Inc., a full service mechanical contractor serving markets across the Southeast, is pleased to announce an ownership change and leadership transition.
Lewis Caswell, Jeff Caswell and Jeff Griffin have reached an agreement for Griffin to purchase a majority stake in W.O. Blackstone. Jeff Griffin will assume the role of President and CEO, focusing on new business development and client services. Lewis Caswell remains as Chairman while Jeff Caswell remains as Executive Vice President for Administration and CFO. Additionally, Lee Adams has been promoted to Executive Vice President / COO and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company.
W.O. Blackstone has been a part of many important projects in South Carolina since its founding in 1937. Lewis Caswell, who has been with the company for over 55 years and served as majority stockholder since 1982, commented on the transition, I am very proud to have been part of such a wonderful company for all of my working life. We are a family at Blackstone and we welcome Jeff Griffin, knowing that he and the leadership team will continue that tradition.
