Wells Fargo Senior Vice Presidents Brian Rogers and Matt Puckett to Chair American Heart Association’s 2015 Annual Upstate Heart Walk

GREENVILLE, SC – Brian Rogers and Matt Puckett, Senior Vice Presidents of Wells Fargo Bank and Insurance Services, will serve as co-chairs for the American Heart Association’s 2015 Upstate Heart Walk.

Mr. Rogers and Mr. Puckett, who will lead an Executive Leadership Team comprised of Upstate professionals, have set an aggressive goal to raise over $575,000 dollars to help prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.

Brian Rogers and Matt PuckettThis year’s event will take place in April, 2015 and welcomes over 5,000 walkers from Upstate medical groups, businesses, and local communities to participate.

“Wells Fargo has been a long-time supporter of the American Heart Association” says Brian Rogers. “Both Matt and I have personal stories associated with heart disease in our families and are very passionate about the cause. I look forward to working with the Upstate to fight this killer disease and doing my utmost to raise funds and awareness for the good work of the American Heart Association.”

The Upstate Heart Walk is an opportunity for people to initiate changes in their health through walking, while raising funds to help prevent heart disease and stroke. The annual event is a non-competitive, 3-mile walk in which teams are created by employees from local companies, along with friends and family members of all ages. The Upstate Heart Walk is nationally sponsored by Subway Restaurants.

“Brian and I are both honored and humbled to serve as co-chairs for the 2015 Upstate Heart Walk,” says Puckett “I encourage my friends and colleagues in the Upstate to support the Heart Walk by enlisting their companies and employees to participate this year. We believe that if we come together as a community to fight heart disease and stroke, we can all make a lasting difference in the health and wellbeing of our citizens.”

The American Heart Association will feature their new “Life is Why” positioning at this year’s walk.

Executive Director, Martha Gilmartin states, “The Life is Why Campaign was launched in August 2014 and really speaks to why we as staff and volunteers work hard to do what we do. Life is why. Everyone has their own ‘why’ and we are excited to introduce this new campaign to the Upstate community. We know that Brian and Matt will be excellent leaders for our organization and are thrilled to have them on board”.
