Who’s Behind Bars? Come Bail Out Your Favorite Locals at the Laurens County Jail and Bail on Friday
May 29, 2024Get ready, Laurens County! The annual Jail and Bail event hosted by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office is back, and it’s shaping up to be a great event. Mark your calendars for Friday, May 31st, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at The Plaza on the Historic Courthouse Square in Laurens. This fun-filled day supports the Christmas for Kids program, and trust us—you won’t want to miss it!
Imagine this: local business owners and community leaders all behind bars, eagerly awaiting your help to secure their release. Who’s on the lineup this year? Here are a few hints about the big names getting “locked up”:
- A Pastor – Whoa, the scandal over this! Could it be your pastor? If so, he needs your help to make bail!
- Fireman – will his firefighting team rally to set him free?
- Hair stylist—who will style his/her way out of this one?
- Local educator – Is it someone from your child’s school? Parents and fellow educators come bail them out!
- Publisher – hmm, wonder who that might be?
And that’s not all! Word is that business owners, volunteer champions, and even a local barber are all facing time in the clink for a great cause. The excitement is building as these community pillars prepare to go “behind bars” to raise funds for children in need.
Courtney Snow, Public Information Officer with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, is buzzing with excitement. “The Jail and Bail fundraiser is such a fun and engaging way for our community to come together and support the Christmas for Kids program,” she says. “Seeing all these familiar faces locked up is always a highlight, and it’s even better when everyone comes out to bail them out!”
Participants set a fundraising goal, or “bail,” of at least $100 and have been collecting donations. Those who hit their target ahead of time avoid being “jailed,” but they’re still encouraged to join in the day’s fun for photo ops and support. For those who haven’t quite met their goal, friends, family, and the community can help them raise pledges on-site.
This event isn’t just about raising money; it’s about coming together as a community to make a real difference in the lives of Laurens County children. So, gather your friends, family, and coworkers, and head down to the Historic Courthouse Square. Help bail out your favorite locals and enjoy a day filled with laughter, community spirit, and generosity.
Don’t miss out on the fun—come join us, make a difference, and let’s get those “inmates” out of jail for a fantastic cause!
