February 7, 2018Wofford College’s Pi Iota Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega national service fraternity will host about 100 members from 13 colleges and universities in a conference this weekend, beginning Friday, Feb. 9.

A variety of leadership workshops will be presented on Wofford’s campus on Saturday. The organization will hold its formal banquet at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Benjamin Johnson Arena Fitness Center on campus.
“The purpose of this conference is leadership development and service development among our members,” says Kyler Stemen, a Wofford senior majoring in finance, economics and biology. “We are bringing together chapters from across the Southeast.”
Alpha Phi Omega is a national, co-educational service fraternity that encourages campus-based volunteerism. APO has chapters on more than 350 college campuses; Wofford’s Pi Iota Chapter was founded in 1966. The organization works to help members develop leadership skills and experience, friendship on many levels and provide service to others.
“For more than 50 years, APO has made a strong impact on Wofford College and the Spartanburg community,” Stemen adds.
