Woman's Club donates $3,000 to In-Vest

COLUMBIA, SC – March 17, 2009 – The St. Andrews Woman’s Club donated $3,0000 to In-Vest USA on Monday. The group presented community grants to In-Vest and other charities during its monthly meeting in Columbia.
The money came from proceeds from the group’s 28th annual Bridal Showcase, which was held in January.
In-Vest USA is a Richland County-based nonprofit organization which raises funds to equip law enforcement officers with bulletproof vests.
During this economic downturn, when demands on law enforcement are greatly increased and funding for them is less certain, the support of private groups, civic clubs and businesses is more important than ever, said Michael Letts, president of In-Vest. The Woman’s Club realizes that the men and women of law enforcement put their lives on the line for us daily, and we have an obligation to make sure they do so with the protection of life-saving body armor.
