Woodlands at Furman raises funds for Alzheimer’s Association through A Day to Remember

The Woodlands at Furman will host A Day To Remember, a day of events commemorating World Alzheimer’s Day, on Wednesday, September 21.

All proceeds from each event will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. The Woodlands at Furman has a $2,000 fundraising goal for the day.

The event schedule is as follows:

10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. – Jamie Guay from The Alzheimer’s Association will speak in the Camelia Room on Health Living for Your Brain and Body.

11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. – Join us for lunch* (hot dogs, chips and cookie)
*Donate a minimum of $3 for a plate. $1 for additional hot dogs

1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Carnival for a Cure* which includes games such as corn hole, ping pong, ball toss and cake walk. You may sign up at any concierge desk.
*Donate a minimum of $1 to participate in games.

3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – “Alive Inside” movie screening in the Camelia Room. Dan Cohen, founder of the nonprofit organization, Music & Memory, fights against a broken healthcare system to demonstrate music’s ability to combat memory loss and restore a deep sense of self to those affected.
