Wyche Names New Shareholders and Hires Client-Service Staff

GREENVILLE, SC – April 26, 2011 – Wyche is expanding its presence in the Greenville community, recently naming two new shareholders of the firm, Rita Bolt Barker and David H. Koysza, and hiring a Litigation Technology Specialist, Lee Ann Ward, and a Marketing Director, Molly W. Cashman. 

Rita Bolt Barker joined Wyche in 2007 and practices in the areas of Environmental Law, Business Litigation, and Architectural Works Copyright Infringement Litigation.  Barker’s recent work includes advising clients on environmental compliance and sustainable business practices, as well as representing property owners in litigation arising from property contamination and permitting disputes.  Prior to joining Wyche, Barker was an attorney at King & Spalding LLP in Atlanta after serving as law clerk to the Honorable Beverly B. Martin, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.  Barker is a summa cum laude graduate of Clemson University and earned her law degree from Harvard Law School, where she was Executive Editor of the Harvard Women’s Law Journal and served as President of the Board of Student Advisors.  Barker is a member of the boards of directors of Greenville Forward and Friends of the Reedy River. She also serves on the Green Ribbon Advisory Committee for the City of Greenville, is a volunteer for Upstate Forever, and is a member of Leadership Greenville Class 37.

David H. Koysza joined Wyche in 2006 and practices in the areas of Business Litigation and Commercial Bankruptcy. In recent years, Koysza has been lead counsel for South Carolina companies in cases involving manufacturing, banking, product distribution, real estate, and bankruptcy disputes. Before joining the firm, Koysza practiced Supreme Court litigation with the U.S. Solicitor General in Washington, D.C., and he served as law clerk to the Honorable William W. Wilkins, Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He graduated magna cum laude from Furman University and magna cum laude from Duke University School of Law.  At Duke, he was Executive Editor of the Duke Law Journal, winner of the Hardt Cup Moot Court Competition, and a member of the Order of the Coif. Koysza serves as Chair of the Downtown Symphony Club, as a member of the Board of Trustees of Fall for Greenville, and as a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church.

Lee Ann Ward was recently hired by Wyche to serve as Litigation Technology Specialist. In this role, she works with Wyche attorneys to integrate technology into courtroom presentations and to streamline the document discovery process. Ward has more than 25 years of experience in the legal field, formerly working as a Litigation Paralegal at the national law firm, Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green, PA, as a Paralegal and Executive Administrator in the office of general counsel at Fisher Scientific International Inc., a $6B public company, and as a Senior Litigation Paralegal at the international law firm, Nixon Peabody LLP. Ward has a broad background in litigation and transactional work and extensive experience in electronic discovery and trial preparation, with proficiency in a variety of litigation technology, including Trial Director, CaseMap and LiveNote (case analysis and trial presentation applications), and Concordance and CaseLogistix (electronic document review and evidence management tools). 

Molly W. Cashman was recently hired by Wyche as the firm’s Marketing Director. In this role, Cashman oversees all marketing, public relations, client communications, and business development efforts.  Prior to joining Wyche, Cashman worked for six years at Amazon.com’s self-publishing and print on-demand subsidiary, CreateSpace, in Charleston, SC where she served as Marketing Manager and was responsible for all acquisition marketing efforts, including managing strategic customer and prospect communications, search engine marketing campaigns, display and affiliate advertising, company presence at trade shows and industry events, and more. Cashman is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina Honors College, where she received the Outstanding Public Relations Senior and Kappa Tau Alpha Top Undergraduate Scholar awards during her final year.
