Zoom through the Zoo 5K set in two weeks

March 16, 2015

GREENVILLE, SC – Runners and walkers will once again get to run through the Greenville Zoo this March.

Zoom Through The Zoo includes a children’s fun run at 8 a.m. and a 5K at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28 in the City of Greenville’s Cleveland Park. The 5K course has been redesigned for 2015. It will weave runners through the park and includes roughly 0.8 miles inside the Greenville Zoo – allowing runners and walkers of all ages to run past the giraffes, lions and orangutans.

The first 250 people to register will receive a pass to the Greenville Zoo. The event also will feature appearances by the mascots for the Greenville Drive and Greenville Road Warriors.

“Zoom Through The Zoo will raise funds to support the mission of The Friends,” said Amanda Osborne, The Friends of the Greenville Zoo’s executive director. “This is an event where people can run and walk on one of the most unique courses in the Upstate, and the only on that goes through a zoo.”

Online registration is now open for both the 5K and a shorter children’s fun run, which will be a lap around the Cleveland Park playground. Participants can register online at www.gogreenevents.com/ZoomThroughTheZoo2015.
