Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center raises $575,000 at annual dinner auction

February 15, 2018

The Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center experienced another record-breaking year at its 18th annual dinner auction on Thursday, February 2, 2018 at the Cedar Room, raising more than $575,000. This year’s auction also came with a new name – “New Day. New Hope. New Dream.”

“I am in awe of and inspired by the generosity exhibited by our 245 guests. In one night, enough money was raised to cover the costs of comprehensive services for 410 children. These funds are essential to ensuring we can provide services to all children that need us,” said Executive Director Carole Swiecicki.

Generously hosted by Blair and Teddy Turner, Jr. and the partners of the Cedar Room, guests enjoyed cocktails and delectable appetizers while they bid on unique and exciting silent auction items as well as fine original art from local artists. Following a specially prepared, three-course dinner, the live auction offered vacations near and far, including a trip to Italy and a trip for six to Sonoma Wine Country. Other exciting packages included exclusive dining and shopping opportunities.

The money raised will be used to support the healing services Dee Norton offers. These include on-site forensic interviews, medical examinations, mental health assessments as well as immediate support and coordination – all of which are provided at no cost to children’s families.

Dee Norton recognizes those who contributed their time, talents, and resources to New Day. New Hope. New Dream.: Anchor Sign, Wells Fargo, NCGS, Kimberly and John Baden, Hill Construction, EventWorks, Luke Wilson Events, and many more.
